"Once a missioner, always a missioner........"

Feb 24, 2010

Back ground

Started by students of Makerere University most of whom came from fort portal and specifically from Kabarole Christian Fellowship Church. It was out of a great passion they had, propelled by the scripture, “I have been given authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit…” Matthew 28:18-20. Blending this with Acts 1:8, that “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, In Judea, through out Samaria and to ends of the earth.”
With these passion-building scriptures, the students decided to form themselves into an organized group and registered with the main Christian Union in Makerere so as to reach out to the people in Kabarole, especially in schools and in rural areas to spread the gospel of the good news as well as to create an impact in their generation and the generations to come through ministering to academic and social needs of the students therein. As time went on, they realized that they also needed to reach out to other neighboring communities. This caused them and those that came after them to go to different districts of Uganda like Masaka, Bundibugyo, Kasese, Mbarara, among others and also to neighboring countries of Rwanda, Kenya and Burundi.
The mission group despite being started by students from Kabarole has not been restricted in its membership but has encompassed any and everyone with the passion to spread the word of the lord. We have members from all parts of Uganda and some Kenyans.
